This is a company with a massive repuation already and are known for distributing massive Hollywood blockbusters. 20th Century Fox are known to distribute family films with a huge reach so they have already proven that they will be able to distribute Avatar in order to reach its maximum potential. 20th Century Fox also helped produce the film.
The film was distributed to 507 cinemas in the UK. This is one of the largest releases ever in the UK and it will ensure the film is available everywhere in order to meet the demand they are hoping to have. It is also being distributed in both 3D and 2D in order to maximise the number of cinemas that can distribute it since some don't have the ability to screen 3D films. This will also help to secure the wide release this film needs.

20th Century FOX have recently been responsible for the distribution of Jennifer's Body, Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs, The Tooth Fairy, Night at the Museum 2, and many more. This shows us that FOX provide a very big output for a young and teenage audience.
